Canon Rangefinder (X) TLS Rehoused FF LPL Lens

$1,300.00

Our captivating new lens set - coming from lenses that couldn't be utilized for motion picture purposes due to the constraints posed by the spinning mirrors of film cameras and the limitations of the PL mount. With the advent of rehousing companies like TLS, they have been able to provide us to solutions to simplify the filmmaking process.

The evolution of the 1960s Canon Rangefinder primes started with the 50mm “Dream” Lens as its hero focal length at a stunning f0.95 (T1.1) aperture. The warm lower contrast look of this set comes from the golden single-layer coatings. The performance is remarkable due to their age and they deliver sharp images wide open and tremendous bokeh that is unique and buttery. The texture this set provides is unmatched and its coverage is on par with K-35s.

The original TLS Rangefinders consist of the 25mm, 35mm, 50mm Dream, 85mm and 100mm. After that set was welcomed with tremendous success, they created the Rangefinder-X lines of lenses which included the 19mm T4 (f3.5), 28mm T2.1 (f1.8), 40mm T1.8 (f1.7), 58mm T1.3 (f1.2) and 135mm T2.8 (f2.5). Due to the lack of wider focal lengths during the 1960s, lenses such as 19mm and 28mm were manufactured by TLS to complete the set. All the Rangefinder-X lenses match the sharpness, contrast, bokeh, and flare characteristics of the rest of the set. While keeping the theme of Japanese optical elements, the “X” line of lenses should have no problem keeping up with the rest of the set.

The new housings have new matte-finished 16-blade circular irises, 110mm fronts, 300 degree focus rotation, LPL mounts, matching gear positions, and greatly improved close focus distances. The LPL mount allows us to preserve the lenses' original optical designs, maintain their full image circle. If needed, we provide courtesy LPL Mounts for RED, ARRI, SONY cameras.

Note: All lenses cover FF format, the 58mm, 85mm, 100mm and 135mm fully cover Medium Format (FUJIFILM GFX100 / GFX ETERNA).
